LAHORE – The Pakistan Whites hockey team was on Tuesday awarded a cash prize for winning gold in the 11th South Asian Games. Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif announced an award amounting to Rs. 1.6 million for the players and officials belonging to Punjab.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore and Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Minister for Education Punjab distributed the cash awards among players and officials. Also present on the occasion were President PHF Qasim Zia, Secretary General Asif Bajwa, Rana Mujahid Ali, Secretary Punjab Hockey Association, Olympian Khawaja Zakauddin, Olympian Arshad Ali Chaudhary, Olympian Khawaja Muhammad Junaid, Olympian Anjum Saeed and Treasurer PHF Khalid Iqbal.
The cash award was distribution among:
Officials: Muhammad Akhlaq, Danish Kaleem, Shahbaz Junior & Dr. Asad Abbas.
Players: Khalid Bhatti, Imran Butt, Khurram Majeed, Aamir Shehzad, Kashif Javaid, Zeeshan Ali, Saleem Nazim, Tasawwar Abbas, Abdul Ghaffar, Waqas Akbar, Muhammad Naghman, Abdul Qayyum Dogar, Muhammad Waqas, Abdul Khaliq and Mohsin Bilal.
