ISLAMABAD – The nation will celebrate Pakistan Day today (Wednesday) to commemorate the Lahore Resolution adopted on the very day in 1940. The day would dawn with 31 gun salutes in Islamabad and 21 gun salutes in all provincial capitals.
The day would be observed as a public holiday in all federal and provincial government offices, banks and private offices. The national flag will be hoisted on important public and private buildings throughout the country and all Pakistani missions abroad.
This year too, the permanent feature of the armed forces parade on Pakistan Day has been cancelled owing to security reasons as well as hectic engagement of troops in the north-west frontier areas of the country to fight militants.
