Mehmood wins Coke Golf

LAHORE – The Pakistan Day Coke Golf Tournament concluded at the Gymkhana Golf Course yesterday, with Amir Mehmood being declared the winner of the 18-hole competition. Right until the very last putt, the result hung in the balance. A review of the final scores showed that Amir had beaten Mohsin Zafar through a better score on the back nine holes. Amir carded a gross 75 for the day, a score also achieved by Mohsin. Shahid A. Khan grossed a 76.
Eighty-six leading amateurs turned up for the event. At the conclusion of the tournament, John Sewar, Country General Manager Coke, awarded prizes among the winners. Winners of other events: Handicap category 13-18; Shazil Ibrahim (1st net); Rehman Salim (2nd net); Qasim Riaz (3rd net); Jamal Nasir (1st gross); Dr. Arshad Mehmood (2nd gross); Babar Chaudry (3rd gross); Handicap 7-12;Mahad Zafar (1st net); Dr. Zafar Nasrullah (2nd net); Saeed Ahmed (3rd net); Amir Ali (1st gross); Asad Khan (2nd gross); Hamza Asif (3rd gross); Handicap 0-6;Shahid A. Khan (1st net); Sardar Murad Khan (2nd net); Mohsin Anwer (3rd net). Dr. Prof M. Latif Chaudry won the veterans net and Javed A. Zia the veterans gross. Qayum Rashid topped in seniors gross and Dr. Sheikh Amer Ali in seniors net.
