LAHORE – Government of Pakistan awarded Maulana Hifzur Rehman (late) with Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his valuable donations to Lahore Museum, 41 years after his death, today. Rehman is known for his services in the field of archaeology, history and linguistic research. His unique and expensive life-long collection includes 3 rare manuscripts of Quran written by Hazrat Imam Hussain, decrees, Chinese porcelain, coins, glass items, miniatures, ivory items, specimens of calligraphy and Islamic art. These antiquities are fifteen hundred in number and were donated to Lahore Museum during Rehman’s lifetime.
