LAHORE – “I cannot do any thing with out the permission of the Punjab government and doctors have to wait for the CM to return from abroad and he will announce the special allowance package for doctors,” Punjab Health Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad told a delegation of young doctors, which called on him at the Civil Secretariat on Monday. After the meeting with the Punjab health secretary, young doctors decided that they would not withdraw their call for observing strikes at OPDs.
The Young Doctors Association office bearers also visited Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Rana Iqbal who assured them of presenting their demands before the CM. During the meeting, doctors also presented a budget for four persons and the salary given to them by the Punjab government. Earlier, Young Doctors Association office bearers were called by Fawad for talks. A 15-member delegation including YDA Punjab President Hamid Butt and others tried to convince the secretary for increasing their salaries but Fawad said that he could not do anything without the CM’s approval.
