LAHORE – The lights are back on and factory floors are buzzing. Hot metal is pouring out of car companies that are leaner, greener, and meaner than ever. Four of the eagerly awaited vehicles coming soon from the world’s top automakers are as follows.
First, the Bugatti 16C Galibier…
This beast is expected to have a top speed of 320 km/h, a twin-supercharged 8.0-liter W-16 engine, all-wheel drive ceramic disc brakes and a Swiss-made Parmigiani Fleurier tourbillion clock in the dashboard that can be removed and worn as a wristwatch. If they build it, the super rich will definitely want to acquire this status symbol.
Second, the Ferrari FF…
The FF – an acronym for Ferrari Four (four seats and four-wheel drive) – ushers in an entirely new GT sports car concept. The revolutionary FF offers a completely new take on the sporting Grand Tourer theme. It is not only the first Ferrari with four-wheel drive, but, more significantly, a model that hails a major break with the past, effortlessly melding extreme sports car performance with the versatility and usability of a genuine GT and boasting an extremely innovative design.
It can comfortably accommodate four in its bodyhugging seats and spacious cabin. Its 450 litre boot can also be extended to 800 litres as the rear seats fold down independently. This means that the FF offers more luggage space not only than any other car in its category, but also more than many four-door saloons.
The FF keeps up the Ferrari tradition by offering extra ordinary performance figures. The V 12 engine in an FF produces 660 bhp, accelerates the car from 0 – 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and gives it a top speed of 335km/h.
Third, the 2013 Dodge Viper…
The Viper will be back, but will it be the same? The People at Dodge say that the design for the 2013 Dodge Viper is inspired by a naked woman on a beach. With the exception of a coke-bottle body shape, Let’s see how she comes across in automotive form. As long as there’s a V-10 up front I think drivers will be happy.
Fourth, the Porsche 918 RSR hybrid…
Porsche’s latest racing hybrid blends styling from past mid-engine cars with the latest technology in composite construction and energy recovery. A cabin-mounted flywheel and two front-wheel-mounted motors gather, store, and release power in combination with or to supplement the mid-mounted V-8 for a maximum of 767 horsepower. Expect a road-going version of the 918 by 2014 at the latest.
And the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque…
The Evoque will be a third model for Range Rover, fitting below the stately, eponymous RR and the Range Rover Sport. It goes on sale mid-2011.
