ISLAMABAD – The SNGPL Monday assured the Supreme Court that the sui gas supply connections to the consumers would be provided in a ‘highly transparent manner’. A three member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani and Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany was hearing a suo motu case against non-supply of gas connection to one Ghulam Fatima, resident of Gujjar Khan. Mazhar Ali Chaudhry, Deputy Attorney General appeared on court notice, while Ahmer Bilal Sufi advocate and M. Rashid Lone, M.D.
SNGPL appeared for SNGPL. Counsel for SNGPL submitted that in future no discrimination would be made on political basis and the connection of gas will be given through a highly transparent manner following the policy already laid down. The petitioner had accused that the gas connections were being given under political influences. The court later disposed of the case. Counsel for SNGPL in another case of SNGPL contract employee said that the incumbent Abdur Rashid Lone was presently 68 years old was on contract for the last eight years.

it is requested that plz clarify that whether this policy is implemented for prevention of influence of political people in gas connection and what happend to the areas where capitalization is required as the sngpl completed that work on line in our area and commissioned the line in march 2012. whether the we people have to wait for our turn or or combined connection will be given as the previous practice of the company?
