LAHORE – A full dress traffic diversion rehearsal was conducted on Ferozepur Road on Monday to plan the traffic routes during the construction of Kalma Chowk flyover. The Ferozepur Road patch towards Kalma Chowk was blocked for rehearsals to plan traffic diversion during the Kamla Chowk flyover construction. Lahore Commissioner Nadeem Hasan Asif, Project Director Sabir Khan Durrani, CMW Chief Engineer Munawwar Shabir, Chief Traffic Officer Ahmad Mobin, SP Head Quarter Traffic Sohail Chaudry were present at the occasion to supervise the rehearsal.
The CTO said that 100 traffic wardens shall be deployed to look after the traffic during the construction. He said that 3 DSPs and 12 inspectors would be present at all times during 3 shifts a day. The CTO admitted that the traffic on Ferozepur Road shall be slow but he expected it to remain steady. He requested the public to avoid Ferozepur Road to reduce the traffic load on the road.
