KARACHI – The poor and the deserving are being provided with free food at service stalls established by the Chhipa Welfare Association (CWA) across the city. The increase in the number of poor citizens who cannot afford two meals a day amid skyrocketing prices of essential commodities has also caused problems for the CWA to meet the escalating need of feeding the citizens.
Social worker, founder and CWA Chairman Ramzan Chhipa has launched a campaign to meet the feeding requirements of the poor citizens. In this regard, Chhipa has recently launched the ‘Provide food, save humanity’ campaign in the city because he expects that well-off citizens and philanthropists would come forward and help their deserving fellows.
It is pertinent to mention here that the CWA ensures at least two free meals a day to the deserving citizens, which is an additional philanthropic duty that the CWA has taken up along with providing ambulance service for taking the injured and the ailing to the nearest healthcare facility. However, the growing expenses have made it extremely difficult to provide the required services diligently.
In this regard, CWA volunteers have been distributing pamphlets in order to create awareness among the well-off people so that they might donate to the CWA for the noble cause. Chhipa has once again requested the citizens to join CWA’s campaign for the noble cause of serving humanity. He said that they should also donate their old furniture, home appliances, wooden and electronic scrap, dry ration and cooked meal to the CWA headquarters or any of the CWA ambulance centres in the city.
