LAHORE – Former World Cup and Test umpire Khalid Aziz has pointed out that the onfield umpires in the World Cup are visibly biased and favouring the Australian team. Talking to this scribe on Saturday, he said that Shaun Tait continuously delivered no balls but the on field umpires M Erasmus (South Africa) and AL Hill (New Zealand) did not shout against him.
Similarly, he bowled out of the side crease in the match against Canada but the umpires ignored his no balls and several other close decisions. Now, Pakistan was the victim of the biased umpiring, but the match referee did not notice the foul play and even the International Cricket Council is mum over the issue.
