Five hurt in attack on PPP leader’s office

KARACHI – Five people were wounded when an unidentified culprit attacked the office of a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader in Saddar, police and witnesses said on Saturday.
Napier police station’s SHO Nawaz Gondal said that an unidentified man hurled a hand grenade at PPP leader Habib Baloch’s office in Kumharwara around 2:30pm. The SHO said that five people, including Baloch’s brother, were hurt in the attack. Mujahid, Rafique, Asif, Arif and Pir Muhammad were shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi, he added.
Following the incident, all public and private activities were immediately suspended, whereas miscreants resorted to intermittent aerial firing. Police have registered FIR No 8/11 under Sections 324 and 427, and 5/4 of the Explosives Act, on the complaint of Baloch’s injured brother Mujahid.
Saddar Town’s TPO Qamar Raza Jiskani said that the area had turned into a war zone, and politically-motivated people were attacking one other.
