Balochistan gets new advocate general

QUETTA – The government of Balochistan appointed senior lawyer and former senator Amanullah Kunrani Balochistan advocate general on Saturday. Kunrani’s appointment came after resignation of his predecessor Salahuddin Mengal who was asked to step down in the wake of a controversy generated over his statement in the Supreme Court that Frontier Corps Balochistan was involved in whisking away Baloch youth.
His statement which indicates the involvement of the FC in killing and dumping the bodies of missing persons after whisking them away, annoyed the power that be which ultimately got him out of job. Mengal on Friday called upon Chief Minister Aslam Raisani and tendered his resignation which Raisani accepted.
