RAWALPINDI – The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) hearing the Benazir Bhutto murder case on Saturday gave the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) one more week to serve an arrest warrant on former president Pervez Musharraf, asking them to produce him in court on March 26.
On the last two hearings, ATC-III Special Judge Rana Nisar Ahmed had directed the FIA to arrest and produce the former president in the court, but the agency had so far failed to comply with the orders. During the in camera hearing of the case at the Adiyala Jail, FIA prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar informed the court that Musharraf’s arrest warrant had been sent to the Pakistan’s High Commission in London.
He said that the High Commission hoped to get a positive response from the British Home Office within a week. The court, accepting the prosecutor’s plea and adjourned the hearing until March 26.
