LAHORE – Judicial Magistrate Rizwan Shah granted bail to 73 Provincial Management Services (PMS) officers, who had been arrested for protesting in Punjab Civil Secretariat, against personal surety bonds of Rs 500 each on Friday. The PMS Officers were brought in the district courts in five police prison buses like other criminals. A large number of their colleagues and other government servants received them. The counsels for the PMS Officers, Lahore Bar Association President Shahzad Hassan Shah and Secretary Syed Farhad Shah argued that the officers who had been arrested were not criminals and they were protesting for their demands in a constitutional manner. He said, “If the officers were not granted bail today, the judges can also be treated like this in the future.”
