LAHORE – Punjab University Society of International Law (PUSIL) met under the chairmanship of Justice (r) Ali Nawaz Chowhan on Friday. PUSIL members expressed grief over the recent loss of life and property in Japan due to an earthquake and tsunami and offered their services for the Japanese victims. Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran and Principal Samee Uzair Khan endorsed the society’s resolution and expressed sympathy for the people of Japan. PhD cases reviewed: A meeting of the Punjab University Advanced Studies and Research Board (AS&RB) was held under the chairmanship of VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran in his office on Friday in which PhD cases of various scholars were reviewed.
A board representing different PU departments, institutes, colleges and schools approved 10 PhD synopses, 7 PhD theses reports and 11 examiners’ panels for a PhD theses review. The board gave extensions to two cases and discussed seven miscellaneous cases. Dr Javaid Ahmed, Dr Shahida Hasnain, Dr Hafiz Mahmood Akhtar, Dr Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal, Dr Qalb-i-Abid, Dr Abdul Ghaffar, Dr Muhammad Ehsan Malik, Dr Muhammad Hafeez, Dr Liaqat Ali, Dr Mahr Muhammad Saeed Akhtar, Dr Naseer Ahmad and Dr Muhammad Akhtar attended the meeting.
