LAHORE – Lawyer for two Pakistan men shot dead by Raymond Davis on January 27, on Thursday requested Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) to register a case against the superintendent, deputy superintendent and other staff of the Central Jail Kot Lakhpat.
Asad Manzoor Butt, lawyer for the two victims, approached CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tarin and filed a written complaint in this regard for legal action. Butt demanded stern action against jail officials, alleging they had intentionally stopped him and his associate Nauman Ateeq from attending proceedings of the case and even did not allow them to meet their clients.
The complainant further added that the jail officials detained them from moving in and out of jail for four-and-a-half hours. He said a case should be registered against aforementioned people for kidnapping, and for violating Article 10 of the constitution. Butt added that law enforcement agencies had kept the families of the victims detained and had not paid them anything so far.
