Faisal appointed chairman of AFC legal body

LAHORE – Pakistan Football Federation President Faisal Saleh Hayat was appointed the chairman of the AFC Legal Committee during the AFC Executive Committee Meet at Kuala Lumpur on Thursday. The new AFC Executive Committee met at AFC House for the first time under the chairmanship of AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam.
The AFC Executive Committee was elected at the 24th AFC Congress held in Doha on January 6, 2011. Hammam extended his condolences to the people of Japan and the Japan Football Association following the massive earthquake and tsunami. The House approved two proposals by Faisal besides approving him the new Chairman of AFC Legal Committee.
It was decided that developed countries will help emerging nations in all aspects of football, including administration, coaching, refereeing, women’s football and visits of the teams of different levels. Secondly, the amount of AFC AID-27 Financial Assistance Scheme had been raised and the increment will allow PFF to engage more youth coaches for imparting training to young footballers under Grass Root and Youth Development Programme.
