LAHORE – The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) has reissued its previous proposal for allowing the commercial import of second hand buses up to three years old on condition that such buses are first certified by a reputable pre-shipment inspection company which furnishes confirmation to the effect that the vehicle in question has a road life of at least five years.
Ministry of Commerce in a summary for the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet proposed that the commercial import of busses with capacity of 40 or more seats with a condition of minimum five year life of the vehicle.
In addition, MoC has proposed that the age limit of trucks, tractors, buses and vans may be increased to five years under the baggage and gift schemes instituted by the government.
