LAHORE – The Kashf Foundation organised an annual naat competition in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) on Sunday. The competition was held for Kashf’s clients’ children, most of whom belonged to low income households.
The objective of the event was to enhance Kashf’s community presence amongst its clientele and to encourage extracurricular activities among Kashf’s community. Armish Chaudhary won a trophy and computer system as the first prize, Ayesha Rehman won a trophy and a digital camera as the second prize and Fasheh Haider won a trophy and a bicycle as the 3rd prize.
The chief guest and Silk Bank Ltd Retail Banking Country Head Talha Saeed said such events were conducive to creating a healthy and competitive environment for children. He advised the children to efficiently utilise their potentials for Pakistan’s progress and development. Special guest naat khwan Hafiz Marghoob Ahmad Hamdani stressed the need to establish a peaceful society by spreading the Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s teachings.
Kashf Foundation Managing Director Roshaneh Zafar distributed school bags, books and certificates amongst the participants and said that Kashf Foundation focused on alleviating poverty and improving living standards of low-income households by providing small business loans to women.
She said the aim of the competition was to provide children with a platform to express their creativity while exemplifying the cultural values of their communities. She said preliminary naat competitions were held amongst 500 children from various areas of Lahore while 24 children were short-listed for the final contest.
