DASKA – A man tortured his parents severely and broke the bones of his mother at village Dhaddu Basra. Reportedly, landlord Akbar, a resident of village Dhaddu Basra, along with his wife Parveen Bibi, was present at his ‘dera’ when their son came there and started beating them up. He caught her mother’s hair and dragged her into the village streets, breaking her bones. The villagers reached the spot and saved them.
LHWS DEMAND REGULARISATION OF JOBS: Hundreds of lady health workers (LHWs) have expressed their concern over non-regularisation of their jobs and nonpayment of salaries for the last several months by the provincial government. More than 3,000 LHWs were appointed in the Sialkot health department on ad-hoc basis for Rs 3,000 per month 16 years ago by the then provincial government, but they have not been regularised so far. In addition, the provincial government has not increased their salaries. The Sialkot health department said that they had been awaiting further orders from the provincial government.
