LAHORE – The Pakistan Whites hockey team will receive Rs 1.6 million as prize money for winning the 11th SAG trophy. The team participated in the 11th SAG held in Dhaka from January 29 to February 8, 2010 and won the title.
Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif promised a cash award for the winning team and on Tuesday he announced the prize money for the victorious team members from Punjab amounting to Rs 1,600,000. The prize distribution ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 17 at National Hockey Stadium, Lahore.
Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Education Minister Punjab will be the chief guest of the ceremony. The PHF has invited the officials and players of the team who belong to Punjab to attend the ceremony. Officials include Muhammad Akhlaq, Danish Kaleem, M Shahbaz Junior and Dr Asad Abbas while players are Khalid Bhatti, Imran Butt, Khurram Majeed, Aamir Shehzad, Kashif Javaid, Zeeshan Ali, Saleem Nazim, Tasawwar Abbas, Abdul Ghaffar, Waqas Akbar, Muhammad Naghman, Abdul Qayyum Dogar, Muhammad Waqas, Abdul Khaliq and Mohsin Bilal.
