LAHORE – The Pakistan Hockey Federation Executive Board will be meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) to take the final decisions on a number of issues. During the meeting, the team managements of the senior and junior teams will be finalised. The members will also review a number of complaints the federation received during the national and junior championships held at Faisalabad and Bahawalpur recently. Talking to journalists here on Monday, PHF Secretary Asif Bajwa said that apart from reviewing the complaints, the board will also finalise the players who will be awarded central contracts. “Around 25 to 30 players will be given the contracts and the exact number will be finalised by the members.
“We will also review the law of age restriction and the complaints filed by the team managements during the junior and senior championships. “We will follow a proper procedure so that merit prevails,” he added. “The team management issue for the senior and junior teams will also be addressed. So it will be a comprehensive meeting,” he said. He further stated that the team management of the senior team will have a term until the Olympics, while the junior team officials will serve until the Asia Cup.
Answering a question, he said that the federation had nothing to do with a player’s inclinations with any political party.
