Students teach a thing or two about cleanliness to CHK staff

KARACHI – Serve Our Civil Hospital (SOCH), a non-political, student-run organisation, running a cleanliness and awareness campaign among the patients, non-medical staff and medical staff of the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), organised two campaigns ‘Safai Nisf Eman’ and ‘Pegham-e-Sehat’ on Monday under the banner of ‘Soch Hai Sehat Ki’. More than 100 students of the Dow Medical College participated in the campaigns for the awareness of patients at the hospital. The first campaign, Safai Nisf Eman was held at the Gynecology Unit No-I where students volunteered in cleaning of the ward.
“The aim of this campaign was to clean the ward and highlight the importance of cleanliness. Through these campaigns, we are trying to highlight the importance of infection control so that the patients could be educated about the importance of cleaning,” said a volunteer. The Pegham-e-Sehat took place in Gynecology Unit No 1, 2 and 3 and also in the six units of surgical ward and in Pediatric Unit 2.
