Nepal to take help from Pakistan’s Constitution

KARACHI – Nepal will take help from the Constitution of Pakistan in designing the same document for itself, Chief Justice of Nepal Ram Prasad Shreshta said on Sunday.
He was talking to the media during his visit to the mausoleum of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. He said that in the near future, there would be a federally administered system in his country and that Nepal is undergoing a process to prepare a constitution.
“We will take help from the Constitution of Pakistan,” he added. Earlier, Justice Ram Prasad Shreshta along with the Sindh High Court Chief Justice Mushir Alam and other notables visited the Mazar-e-Quaid and paid homage to the great leader.
The Nepal chief justice and the SHC chief justice laid floral wreaths there and paid glowing tributes to the founder of Pakistan in their remarks in the visitors’ book. In his brief comments to the media, the Nepal CJ said that he is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
The Nepal chief justice said that there is complete democracy in
Pakistan. He was of the view that all the ingredients of an independent nation including democracy and an independent and active judiciary are available in the country. He said he is inspired by the chief justice of Pakistan, adding that he highly appreciates the courage and impartiality of Justice Chaudhry.
He said the efforts of the chief justice of Pakistan for the independence of judiciary and to protect the rule of law are highly commendable.
