Six of a family killed in Jaffarabad rocket attack

QUETTA – Six persons, including four children, belonging to a same family were killed as a rocket hit their house in Jaffarabad district. According to the police sources, the rocket landed on the residence of Pehalu Khan Bugti in Goth Hyer-ud-Din. As a result, the house owner and his wife besides four young daughters lost their lives.
The attack was carried out on the night between Friday and Saturday from the nearby mountains while the victims were asleep. Following the attack, police rushed to the spot and moved the bodies to Suhbatpur Hospital for autopsy. Later, the heirs placed the bodies on the Sindh-Balochistan National Highway to express their anger and accused the security forces of targeting the house of Pehalu Khan.
However, the official sources strongly rejected their claims. A spokesman of Baloch Republican Party (BRP) Sher Muhammad Bugti also criticised the security forces and asked the world community to take notice of alleged atrocities against Balochs. In another incident, three policemen and an official of WAPDA received injuries in a landmine blast in Chattar area of Naseerabad.
Police said WAPDA XEN Taj Muhammad was passing from the area along with other workers and policemen for repairing a damaged pylon when his vehicle rolled on a landmine. As a result, Taj, ASI Rasool Bakhsh, Constable Rab Nawaz and an unknown person sustained injuries while the vehicle was also badly damaged in the blast.
