KU scientist awarded PAS gold medal

KARACHI – The Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) has awarded PAS Gold Medal to Prof Dr Khalid M Khan – a senior scientist of the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi – in recognition of his services in the field of chemistry.
A spokesman for the ICCBS said on Saturday that Dr Khan is considered one of the senior most scientists of the centre. He said that Dr Khan is busy in research and academic activities at HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi, for the last many years.
University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, COMSTECH Coordinator General Prof Dr Atta-ur-Rahman and ICCBS Director Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary have congratulated Dr Khan on his remarkable achievement and said that this is an honor not only for the ICCBS but for the whole university.
It was pointed out that Dr Khan is an active scientist who has written two books that have been published internationally and around 250 research papers in journals of international repute. The government of Pakistan has already honored him with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his performance in the field of chemistry.
