Citizens protest against TMA’s poor performance

HAFIZABAD – The people of the city protested against the poor performance of Tehsil Municipal Administration Hafizabad and demanded the Punjab chief minister take notice of its failure to serve the masses.
The sewerage system of Jaganwala Road is not working properly and sewerage water has been standing on the roads for many days. The people of the locality informed the officers concerned many times, but to no avail.
Social circles protested against the negligence of the TMA and urged the chief minister to take action against the negligent officers who are maligning the Punjab government.
BIKE, CASH SNATCHED: A villager was deprived of cash and his motorcycle near village Ghailoki, 20kms from here.
Reportedly, Muhammad Anwar, a resident of village Parr Lakkhan, was going somewhere on his motorcycle from village Ghailoki when two dacoits stopped him and snatched his motorcycle and cash from him and fled. The police have refused to register a case and traditionally told the victim to trace the dacoits himself.
SEVEN BOOKED FOR AERIAL FIRING: At least seven people, including a bridegroom and his father, were booked on the charges of aerial firing at a marriage ceremony.
According to the police, during the marriage ceremony of Asghar Ali son Abdul Karim, his friends and relatives, Muhammad Iqbql, Zeeshan, Naeem, Arshad and Hannan Dar, were engaged in jubilant firing. The police reached there, arrested them and registered a case against all the accused, including bridegroom Asghar Ali and his father Abdul Kareem.
‘KITCHEN GARDENS PROJECT TO REDUCE HOUSEHOLD EXPENSES’: Kitchen Gardens Project of the Punjab government will not only promote the culture of sowing vegetables at domestic level but also prove savings in domestic expenditures.
These views were expressed by District Coordination Officer Muhammad Asif while addressing a ceremony at Pindi Bhattian.
He called upon the people to benefit from this project to grow vegetables in their lawns and other small areas where formal cultivation was impossible. He said under this programme 245 kits of seeds had been received from the Punjab government and 25 plots set up in the district.
He said that seeds kits of 10 vegetables were available at the rate of Rs 50 from the offices of the deputy district officers (agriculture) of all the tehsils. He added the agriculture department experts were providing every kind of assistance and introducing the project at grossroots level.
