LAHORE – Tanzeem-i-Islami (TI) on Saturday staged a protest against the drone attacks and Raymond Davis outside the Masid-i-Shuhada The Mall. The protest was attended by hundreds of TI workers. Speaking to protesters, Tanzeem-i-Islami Lahore Ameer Muhammad Jahangir said that after failing to secure Raymond’s release disappointed Americans have started to kill innocent Pashtuns by restarting drone attacks. Political parties who actively protest against Raymond Davis’s expected release, are keeping silent over drone attacks, he said.
If our rulers could see the situation emerging in Arab countries, they will know that all American ‘poodles’ are unable to face the public wrath, he said. TI leader asked the nation to stand up against drone attacks if they felt that the inhabitants of the tribal areas were part of Pakistan. Tajjamal Mir said in his speech that current democratic rulers are fulfilling the agreement inked by former dictator Pervez Musharraf. He said both drone attacks and army operations in tribal belt create hatred against the Government of Pakistan and Pakistan Army.
