Shock therapy

There was a recent article in and English daily titled Shock Therapy for a Confused Republic (March 11, 2011). The writer recommends that Pakistan needs a strong course of medicines and strong doctors to administer the poison, where do we get them from?

This is our foremost problems. Than the writer suggest that elections are a means to this end.

I dont agree with the writer that elections are means to take out the country from the mess, because after the election with the present dysfunctional Election Commission of Pakistan and 45 percent bogus voters on the electoral list, the result will be same.

How, without removing the present lot of selfish, incompetent, dishonest and corrupt politicians, the election will produced the competent doctors who can cure the sick republic.

We are a nation divided on its ideology ruled by an elite class which has noting to do with the needs of ordinary people. All the political, civilians, military and bureaucratic leaders have dual nationalities with assets abroad and these people are charged with the destiny of the country.

Pakistan needs a leader like Kamal Ataturk who can clean the polluted prevailing political system, reform state institutions and implement the ideology of the founding father, M A Jinnah.
