FAISALABAD – A spinning mill owner, kidnapped from Madina Town two months ago, reached home after his son paid Rs 40 million ransom to the criminal gang. Reportedly, Muhammad Siddique disappeared from Khayaban Colony on January 14, 2011, when he was going in his car from his house to Madina Town mosque for Friday prayers. The eyewitnesses told the police that several armed men stopped their car in front of the victim’s car, ordered him to alight from the vehicle at gunpoint and took the victim with them. After a few days, the kidnappers contacted the family and demanded Rs 150 million ransom for his release.
The victim’s son Muhammad Anwar lodged an FIR at Madina Town Police Station. When the kidnappers came to know about the FIR, they broke all contacts with the victim’s family and, after one month, they contacted the family again and threatened to kill the victim if their demand was not met. Muhammad Anwar continued to negotiate with the criminals and said he could pay only Rs 40 million to which they agreed. Anwar fulfilled the demand without informing the police upon which the kidnappers dropped Muhammad Siddique near his house in Khayaban Colony.
