LAHORE – Shalimar Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) held a gathering titled “Friends of Shalimar” on Friday. Trustees, socialists and politicians from all over the city attended the gathering. A guided tour of the hospital and college was also given to the guests. Board of Trustees Chairman Chaudhry Ahmed Saeed briefed the guests about the history of Businessmen Hospital Trust (BHT) and the endeavours it had made in providing healthcare to a valuable segment of the society.
He said the late Chaudhry Nazar Muhammad, the late Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain and Syed Babar Ali, who aimed at providing healthcare to the underprivileged population of the northern Lahore, conceived BTH during 1970’s. Board of Management Chairman Brig Anis Ahmed briefed the audience about the departments of Shalimar Hospital and said that the hospital has been providing healthcare to the underprivileged class for more than 30 years.
He said the hospital houses necessary medical facilities. He said last year, Shalimar Hospital provided free and subsidized medical care worth Rs 100 million to the poor.
