HAFIZABAD – A couple was murdered in the name of honour while their infant was injured in village Ghari Gondal in the jurisdiction of Pindi Bhattain Police Station.
Reportedly, Sikandar, a resident of Ghari Gondal, married a girl Rukhsana Shan, a resident of village Kot Sarwar, against the will of her parents two year ago and, both of them, left the area for the sake of their life. The couple returned to the village after Rukhsana gave birth to a baby. After their return, some armed relatives of the girl went to the village, entered the house of the couple and opened fire on them killing the couple instantly and injuring the infant seriously.
MURDERED STUDENT’S BROTHER RECOVERED FROM ILLEGAL CUSTODY: A bailiff recovered the brother of a murdered student from illegal confinement of Kaleki Police Station. Reportedly, Iltaf Husain and Riaz Husaain shot to death a 9th class student Hassan Raza, a resident of village Shah Jamal, two months ago.
Kaleki police registered a case against the accused but, instead of arresting them, took the brother of the murdered Talat Raza into custody. A relative of Talat Raza submitted a writ in the court of Hafizabad District and Sessions Judge Shikh Muhammad Yousaf who deployed a bailiff Zia Ullah Tatla for recovering the innocent Talat Raza.
The bailiff raided the police station and recovered him from the illegal confinement of the Kaleki police.
THREE DISABLED IN A FAMILY WANT GOVT’S HELP: A poor family had been seeking help from the government and philanthropists for the treatment of its three disabled members for last 15 years.
Political leaders visited the house but did not do anything so for practically for the treatment of the disabled members in village Kot Miran. As per details, Muhammad Shahbaz and his wife had five children while four among them went disabled, due to polio disease. Shahbaz said that no one came to their village for polio vaccination and his children went disabled due to the deadly disease. He added that he could not get them treated due to his poverty and, one month ago, his disabled daughter aged 14 years was died due to lake of treatment. He further said his other three disabled children were unable to stand due to their weak legs.
He said that a local Member National Assembly (MNA) Liaqat Abbas Bhatti visited the house of the family and announced that he would get them treated on his own expenditures but he did not return.
He further said a local leader from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Hafizabad and District Education Advisory Committee Chairman Muhammad Bukhash Tarar also came the other day and announced every possible free treatment and financial assistance of the family.
The Bank of Punjab former president was the resident of this village and his father Humaion Aslam also remained health minister in Punjab during care taker government but he did not bother to treat the disabled members of the family.
DEAD BODY RECOVERED FROM CANAL: An unidentified corpse was recovered form a canal near Punj Pulla Bridge in village Kaleki.
Reportedly, some unknown people murdered a woman and threw his corpse into a canal. When it reached near Punj Pulla Bridge, some passerby saw the dead body floating in the canal and informed the police that reached the spot, recovered dead body and sent it to a hospital for autopsy.
RS 150M BEING SPENT ON UPLIFT SCHEMES: A sum of Rs 150 million was being spent on various development schemes in district Hafizabad for booting sports activities.
Hafizabad District Coordination Officer (DCO) Muhammad Asif said this while talking to journalists during his visit to the under-construction badminton, hockey and football grounds in the village Vaneki Tarar with the cost of Rs 13 million.
He said the Punjab government was giving special attention to provide sports amenities in the far-flung areas of the province for utilising talent at the gross root level. He said the sports complex was being completed with a cost of Rs 70 milliona and different sports events could be held be held there after iots completion. A special programme would also be launched in Hafizabad for the training of the players and national coaches would be hired for their training.
KITE PREPaRATION BANNED: Hafizabad District Administrator had imposed a ban on kite preparation, sale and flying in the limits of the district under section 144 of PPC. He directed the police to ensure implementation of these orders and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.s
