LAHORE – Farmers from the areas adjacent to the Indian border staged a protest on Friday in front of the Punjab Assembly against the high-handedness of border security agencies. A large number of farmers carrying placards and banners gathered at Faisal Chowk and chanted slogans against border area committees for canceling their land claims. Asal Grukey Burki resident Faiq Hussain alleged that the Burki border area committee had unlawfully cancelled their land claims (No. 1793 and 1794) of 317 kanals.
He pointed out that out of total 69 claims, the border area committee had cancelled only two, which was unlawful and unjustified. He said that during the last four decades it was the third time when the border area committee had cancelled their claims. He alleged that border area committee’s Colonel Amir Akhtar had vested interests.
He said Amir Akhtar had gotten a portion of the same land allotted to his name in 2005 by canceling the claims of original owners. Farmers demanded the federal and provincial governments take notice and said that they were annoyed with the behaviour of security agencies especially the 86th Wing of Pakistan Rangers.
Yes, eat them and snatch everything away from them. This is what everyone is doing and Colonel Amir Akhtar should not stay away from this.

West Pakistan Border Area Regulation 1959 with amendments of 1981 makes it compulsory for Allottees of West Pakistan Border Area to get NOC before transferring the land to anyone. Settlers of Border Area were unaware about this amendment as this was never announced through Television, Radio, News paper and implemented through Potwaris. In any legal land Transfer case, such conditions are implemented through legal ways such that Registrar and Potwaris cannot complete the legal process of transfer. End result was that entire area which falls under the restriction of Border Area violated the condition of NOC in one way or the other. Since prices of this land have increased, Border Area Committee became very active after year 2008 and started cancelling the land on Plea that NOC was never issued from GHQ before the transaction were made and allotted the same land to those in power. Now this can be either termed as calculated fraud while playing inside the system such that either allow them to make a mistake and then panelize them or quality of armed forces personals have detoriated to an extent that they are doing everything possible to snatch the land from X-personals and allot them to those in power.

Two three months earlier I went to lhr to attend the Lahre border area comm.case. My father sold 15acres of land wthoout any NOC wth respect to da fact dat we were unaware of such issuance!
Da potwari informed us dat if thy cancel our land we must take a stay order wth immediate effect otherwiz the comm.. transfers da land to its serving officers.
Da potwari also mentioned dat dis army doesnot practice laws anywhr close to da laws of Islam.
Thy thnk of court as a joke. Any what r v capable of once our own president is practicing illegal acts!

Villagers r poor ppl I wonder how thy wld fight against such forces of evil as thy r illiterate.
