SAP-PK commemorates Women’s Day

LAHORE – South Asia Partnership-Pakistan (SAP-PK) organised a seminar in commemoration of the 100th International Women’s Day tilted “Farmer Women in the Post-Flood Situation” at the Punjabi Complex, in Qaddafi Stadium. Addressing the seminar, Shabnum Rashid from SAP-PK highlighted the importance of International Women’s Day while voicing her concerns over the gaps in the ongoing relief and rehabilitation programmes.
She demanded land reforms to provide economic space to flood victims. Pakistan People’s Party National Assembly Member Sajida Mir criticised the reluctant attitude of the state towards the flood affected people, especially women. She demanded issuance of National Identity Cards to flood affected people particularly women on an urgent basis in order to get them access to Watan Cards and the Benazir Income Support Programme.
