Hafizabad shows gloomy picture of dirt heaps

HAFIZABAD – Hafizabad displayed a gloomy picture of dirt heaps as sanitary workers from tehsil municipal administration (TMA) went on strike and staged a demonstration in support of their demands. Reportedly, TMA’s sweepers and other sanitary workers, especially daily wagers observed a strike and launched a protest demonstration for an increase in their salaries, new recruitment of 300 workers and development of residential colony. CBA union General Secretary Patris Masih along with Ishaq Masih presided over the demonstration while Muhammad Zaman Ansari from power looms’ laboures’ union also participated.
WMD EMPLOYEES OBSERVE STRIKE: Employees from Water Management Department (WMD) observed a complete strike and staged a protest demonstration at Fawara Chowk. The protesters raised slogans, demanded permanent jobs and also demanded increase in their salaries.
GAS PIPELINES FILLED WITH WATER IN HAFIZABAD: There is water in gas pipelines in Mohallah Siraj Ganj, Ali Pur Road for seven days.
The Sui gas is not being supplied in this locality due to which their kitchens have been cooled down. The natives protested against the negligence of the Sui gas department and demanded the authorities concerned ensure the gas supply with immediate effect.
DCO TOLD ABOUT FEMALE STUDENTS’ DIFFICULTIES: A number of socio-political personalities in the city visited District Coordination Officer (DCO) Muhammad Asif about the problems faced by the female students in the Government Girls High School Hafizabad who were compelled to study in dirty rooms under weak ceilings. They demanded him shift these 3,000 female students to the building of Muslim High School.
