FAISALABAD – The city government, following Tuesday’s car bombing, has decided to reorganise the security arrangements to have a round-the-clock monitoring of government buildings, sensitive installations and offices.
Divisional Commissioner Syed Tahir Husain said this while addressing a meeting of senior police and civil officers to discuss the security situation in the city.
He added that keeping in view the recent tragedy, a fool proof new patrolling plan was being put in place to tackle all the potential security threats.
The meeting was attended by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Aftab Ahmed Cheema, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Nasim Sadiq and other senior officials. Tahir Hussain emphasised to bridge a proactive link between law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies for the immediate exchange of information for the surveillance of the suspected terrorists and a pre-emptive action against them.
The RPO said he did not believe in ad hoc policies and reiterated his commitment to ensure the safety of people and property.
A security survey was being undertaken to strengthen the existing procedure, he further said and added that illegal parking of cars at the congested areas of the city was an obstacle for the security.
