Two missing Balochistan judges recovered

QUETTA – The two missing judges of Balochistan were recovered in the wee hours of Tuesday after ten days of hectic efforts on part of administration and tribal officials. However, none of the abductors could be apprehended. Sibi District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Jan Gohar and Sibi Civil Judge Muhammad Ali Kakar were abducted by unknown armed persons on February 27 while hey were on their way to Usta Mohammad area of Jaffarabad to attend a wedding. Sibi Deputy Inspector General Qurban Ali Shah claimed that the judges were gotten released during a police raid in Bagh area of Jhal Magsi.
He said that the raid was conducted following information received from an arrested gang leader of kidnappers, Hasil Lahri. In a press briefing, Naseerabad Commissioner Haider Shakoh rejected the possibility of any deal struck for the release of kidnapped judges, saying the release was made possible after the arrest of over fifty suspects during several raids. Meanwhile, Mir Khalid Magsi, former district nazim and brother of Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi, refuted claims that the judges were recovered from Jhal Magsi, saying the DIG police should point out the place from where the judges had been recovered.
Addressing a gathering of lawyers at the Balochistan High Court bar room later, provincial Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa assured that efforts would be continued for the early recovery of four abducted lawyers. He said that he remained equally concerned over the kidnapping of judges and lawyers and was happy that the efforts made on the part of administration, security agencies and protesting lawyers had bore fruit.
