LAHORE – Customs won the 30th U19 Junior National Hockey Championship when they outscored NBP in a penalty shootout in the final match, played at Bahawalpur Hockey Stadium. Meanwhile, SSGC beat WAPDA to secure the third place in the championship.
After a one-all stalemate in the regular and extra times, Customs hit four goals while NBP managed three in the penalty shootouts. Meanwhile, SSGC fought hard with WAPDA and took a 3-2 victory.
Muhammad Asif Bajwa, Secretary General Pakistan Hockey Federation, was the chief guest. Cash prize for the best player of the tournament was awarded to Dilber of NBP. Bajwa also awarded the third position trophy to SSGC, the runners-up trophy to National Bank of Pakistan and the winner’s trophy to Customs.
Results Final: Customs beat NBP 5-4 (Final Result), 4-3 (PS), 1-1 (Extra Time), 1-1 (Full Time), 1-0 (Half Time).Customs: Mohsin Sabir 2 Goals (FG) and (PS), Muhammad Adnan (PS), Kamran Asif (PS) and Muhammad Ali Bhatti (PS).
