STAFF REPORT – A control room has been established in the district coordination officer (DCO) Karachi’s camp office for providing information regarding the sixth Population and Housing Census to be conducted by the Pakistan government in coordination with the inter-provincial CCI, according to a press release issued on Tuesday by the City District Government Karachi (CDGK).
DCOs had been appointed as Census District Coordinators via a federal government notification, to work as delimitation officers in their districts. The census process will be conducted in two phases. By April5, lists of houses will be prepared and marked as part of the first phase. In the second step, data regarding family members and housing units will be gathered in August and September.
Thirty-eight senior teachers from the 18 towns and six cantonment boards of Karachi were initially trained between March 3 and 5 by the provincial organisation for census. These master trainers will now train 8,500 census workers between 14 and 30 March.
