‘Zero tolerance for insurgency’

SWAT – Maj Gen Javed Iqbal Ramday, commanding officer in Swat on Monday urged militants to surrender and warned of dire consequences if they continued their insurgency. “Further violence and terrorism would not be tolerated in Swat,” Maj Gen Javed Iqbal Ramday said while talking to journalists here. He said that people of Swat, armed forces and police rendered tremendous sacrifices for peace. He said no one would be allowed to disrupt peace in the area.
Expressing satisfaction over return of peace in Swat, the GOC for Swat said, “2011 will be peace year for Swat and its people.” He said that there existed maximum coordination and cooperation amongst the law enforcing agencies and people. He underlined the importance of economic uplift in the region.
