Man shot in property dispute

LAHORE – Zafar Iqbal, 50, was shot in Iqbal Town on Monday, allegedly by some men with whom he had a property ownership dispute. Zafar, a resident of Jahenzaib Block, Iqbal Town, had a dispute with his business partner, Nazir, over the ownership of some property. Late on Monday, some masked armed men, allegedly Nazir’s allies, barged into Zafar’s house, sprayed bullets on him and fled. Zafar was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died. His body has been shifted to the morgue for an autopsy, while the police have lodged an FIR against Nazir. The police said that they have started an investigation and they will arrest the culprits soon.
BOY RAN OVER BY A BUS: An unidentified 13-year-old boy was run over by a passenger bus in the Lytton Road police precincts on Tuesday. The boy was trying to cross the road when a rashly driven bus knocked him down; the boy died instantly. The locals caught the bus driver, beat him up and handed him over to the police. The boy’s body has been shifted to the morgue for an autopsy, while the police have lodged an FIR against the bus driver.
The police said that they tried to find out the deceased’s identity and made several announcements in the area but no one showed up to identify the boy.
SECURITY GUARDS KNOCKED DOWN: In an another road traffic accident, a 50-year-old man died while another was injured when a car knocked them down in Sattukatla police precincts late on Monday. The deceased was identified as Mukamal Khan, a resident of Swabi, and his injured friend was identified as Qaim Khan.
They worked as security guards and were making their way along the Expo Center in Johar Town when a car hit them and the driver fled. They were shifted to hospital where Mukamal died. The police informed Mukamal’s family about his death and lodged a case against the car driver.
