LAHORE – A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday seeking directions for federal government to approach international court of justice (ICJ) against India for constructing dams on three rivers Chenab, Jehlum and Sindh. Advocate Rana Ilamudin Ghazi filed the petition and submitted that India by blocking water to Pakistan and constructing dams on these rivers wanted to turn Pakistan into a desert. He said despite fifteen year long Pak-India dialogues over Baghlihar and Kishan Ganga dams, India successfully completed construction of these dams and the matter was pending before the ICJ.
