Hamesh Khan’s close friend arrested for Rs 50 million fraud

HAFIZABAD – The city police have arrested Karam Dad Bhatti, a close friend of the Bank of Punjab former president Hamaish Khan over his alleged involvement in a fraud case. According to details, the police have apprehended Karam Dad Bhatti in a fraud case of Rs 50 million on the complaint of Bank of Punjab Hafizabad Manager Rana Muhammad Saleem. The manager also nominated him in another fraud case of Rs 39.7 million. The police arrested him formally and sent him to jail. It was told that Bhatti was declared a proclaim offender several months ago.
TMA LABOUR UNION MEETS: An emergency meeting of Tehsil Municipal Administration Labour Union (CBA) was held here on Monday with its president Patris Masih in the cahir. The meeting demanded the TMA authorities appoint Christians against the vacant posts of sanitary workers and remove all the Muslims appointed against these posts.
The meeting observed that the Muslim staff was not doing this job properly.
The meeting also demanded increase in the wages of daily-wage employees and induction of at least 300 more sanitary workers according to the increasing population. It further demanded a residential colony for class-four employees and at least Rs 50,000 marriage grant for their daughters. DMG OFFICER greeted: Mumtaz Hussain Zahid, a district management group officer from Sukheki, was promoted to grade-19.
Public and social circles of the Hafizabad city have congratulated him on his promotion. Anjuman Shehriyan Sukheki President Mushtaq Ahmad Chaudhry, General Secretary Bashir Ahmad Rehmani, Dehi Taraqiati Council Sukheki Vice President Muzaffar Ali, former District Bar general secretary Ch Tajamul Raza advocate, Sukheki Press Club general secretary Rauf Ahmad Mughal, social workers Khalid Sindhu and Tariq Sindhu congratulated Mumtaz Zahid and hoped he would serve his country as well as his native land better.
CALL TO CONTROL RUSTLING: Kisan Board Hafizabad has protested against the increasing incidents of cattle lifting and the failure of the police to curb this menace. A delegation of Kisan Board, led by its divisional president, called on Hafizabad District Police Officer Tariq Chohan in his office. The delegation told the DPO that cattle were the only property of the growers, but they were being deprived of their only asset.
They added the police had completely failed to control rustling. The DPO assured the delegation of taking concrete steps to check cattle lifting and initiating disciplinary action against the negligent officials of the police department.
