Crackdown on hoarders ordered

SAHIWAL – Sahiwal Division Commissioner Qazi Muhammad Ashfaq has directed the administrations of all the three districts to immediately start crackdown against hoarders to provide essential commodities to the public at low rates and curb artificial price hike. Chairing a meeting to review price mechanism, he said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had shown his grave concern over hoarding, directing provision of relief to the common man with the help price mechanism.
The meeting was attended by all the DCOs and revenue officers of the division. The commissioner expressed his dissatisfaction over the performance of price magistrates and directed the authorities to monitor their performance on daily basis to ensure the sale of essential items at the rates fixed by the price control committees. He also expressed his dismay over the failure of the market committees to fix reasonable prices of vegetables and fruits.
He directed the DDOs (revenue) of all the tehsils to visit vegetable and fruit markets in the morning to monitor the fixation of prices of these commodities.
EXAM CENTRES INSPECTED: DCO Waqas Ali Mahmood and DPO Rana Ayaz Saleem inspected various examination centres of Matric examinations of Multan Board in the district Sahiwal and inquired about the facilities provided there to the students. They visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School Jehaz Ground, Government Nangal Ambia Boys High School, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Farid Town and Government Girls High School Chak No.86/6-R.
