The death of Mr Shahbaz Bhatti is indeed a serious blow to the national security. However, the government cannot be blemished for this incidence. It has been very particular in taking the terrorists to the task, but since the menace of terrorism has permeated so deeply into our society that at times it becomes extremely impossible to avert such a covert attack.
At a time when rumours are afoot predicting the end of government and a section of media is vigorously running this campaign, there is a need to highlight what democracy can achieve. Our political commentators and media pundits need to know that it is under this government that most threatening issues like terrorism, NFC, Balochistan problem have been taken head on. All of these problems kept on festering under the watch of the previous government. At least, this could be the beginning of finding a solution to the long-standing problems. I request the media pundits to give credit where it is due.
