The Interior Minister Rehman Malik should resign because he has failed to stop another high profile murder, of Mr Shahbaz Bhatti in Islamabad. If he cannot provide security to a governor and a federal minister, both of which belonged to the PPP and committed to its ideology of secularism, how can he justify holding the post of the interior minister?
He was also the security advisor to Benazir Bhutto when she was murdered in Rawalpindi. He has proved that he is not capable of holding the job of interior minister whose prime responsibility is to save the life and property of citizens. Mr Rehman Malik has publicly said that the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi is involved in the terrorism acts in Punjab. Why has he not any taken action against them? Why the intelligence agencies working under him have failed to find out who were behind the murder of Benazir Bhutto, Governor Salmaan Taseer and now Shahbaz Bhatti?
To eradicate terrorism in the country, the task should be given to Pakistan Army and those terrorists who are arrested should be tried by the military court. The judges in our criminal courts are even afraid of hearing the case of Salmaan Taseers killer. The extraordinary situations demands extraordinary measures. The countrys very existence is at stake; the politicians are busy in guarding their personal interests and to rule the country without solving peoples problems. Ordinary citizens are losing faith in the democracy as it has made their lives miserable.
