Unification members resign from 14 slots

LAHORE – The Unification Bloc in Punjab Assembly on Sunday formally resigned from 11 slots of standing committees and 3 positions as Punjab Assembly political assistants.
They submitted their resignations to Provincial Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah who confirmed that he had received the same, sources said. They said that Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif had suggested that they should not resign from offices of standing committees as those slots had nothing to do with politics. However the members of bloc submitted their resignations. It is likely that Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Iqbal would not accept the resignations and the slots would be returned to them, sources added. They said, however, Shahbaz Sharif might accept the resignations from political assistants’ slots.
Ch Muhammad Arshad Jutt, Dr. Malik Mukhtar Bhart and Mohtarma Saba Sadiq working as political assistants resigned from their office. Chairman Standing Committee Raja Shaukat Aziz Bhatti(Environmental Protection Department), Rai Ejaz Hussain (Management and Professional Training), Malik Aitbar Khan (Livestock & Dairy Development), Ch. Nadeem Abbas Rabira (Communication & Works), Muhammad Saqlain Anwar Sipra (Wildlife), Makhdoom Syed Iftikhar Hussain Gillani (S&GAD), Mehdi Abbas Khan (Transport), Amir Yar Hiraj (Food), Pir Wilayat Shah Khaga (Agriculture), Pir Kashif Ali Chishti (Non-formal Education) and Sheikh Allauddin MPA, Punjab Land Development Committee have also resigned.
Mian Ata Muhammad Manika as well as a large number of the members were present in the meeting of the parliamentary party presided over by Dr Tahir Ali Javed. MPA Muhammad Ejaz Shafi from PP-290 presented a unanimous resolution that parliamentary party of Pakistan Muslim League had decided that in the existing political situation it would not indulge in the kind of politics like its leadership had done in Balochistan and formed the government with the collusion of Pakistan Peoples Party. The resolution stated that that it would support PML-N unconditionally.
