Servant kills employer in Misri Shah

LAHORE – A 50-year-old man was gunned down by his servant in Misri Shah on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Hakeem Malik Farrukh, a resident of Sultanpura, Misri Shah. His wife told police that her husband came from Peshawar on Saturday night and went to his bedroom. She woke up at midnight to see husband her husband’s body lying in a pool of blood. Meanwhile, their house servant Qadeer held her and their 13-year-old daughter at gunpoint, threatening them with dire consequences if they raised the alarm. Later he left the house in the dark of the night.
Deceased’s brother Malik Faisal told police that his brother had two servant’s Qadeer and his brother Ashraf. He believed that Qadeer bore a grudge against his brother who had recently fired his (Qadeer’s) brother from the job due to misconduct. Police suspected that Farrukh’s wife was hiding some facts from police as she was asleep in the same room but was unable to hear the gunshot. Police sent the body to the morgue for autopsy.
Man killed in cylinder blast: A man was killed while two others sustained injuries when a gas cylinder used for filling balloons exploded on Abbott Road here on Sunday.Rescue-1122 rushed to the scene and removed the injured persons, identified as Nadeem, Abid Nadeem and Zulfiqar, to Mayo Hospital while Ghari Shahu resident Nadeem expired. Police said the explosion created panic in the area that echoed with the sound of the explosion.
Murdered: A 22-year-old youth was murdered by some unidentified persons in Hunjarwal area on Sunday.
Police said that the killers had severely tortured the youth and later burnt his body to conceal his identity. The body was shifted to the morgue for autopsy.
