Rs 3.2 million bank heist in Saeedabad

KARACHI – Five robbers stormed into a private bank at Shahrah-e-Waqas in the Saeedabad area of Baldia Town and took away Rs 3.2 million on Saturday. Police said that the five robbers disguised as customers entered the United Bank Limited (UBL) branch at around 11:15 am and held the bank staff hostage at gunpoint after overpowering the security guard.
They remained in the bank for 15 minutes and escaped with Rs 3.2 million.
Saeedabad SHO Payar Muhammad Mugheri said that the police reached the spot and acquired the CCTV footage and other important clues. He said that the police have recorded the statements of witnesses and FIR No 137 under Section 392 of Pakistan Panel Code (PPC) has been registered on the complaint of the bank manager.
