LAHORE – The closing ceremony of Pakistan Youth Leadership Forum’s (PYLF) training programme was held at the Alhamra Cultural Complex on Saturday. PYLF is a project by a group of three US Department of State Alumni Dr Farhan Ebadat, Daniyal Talat and Madiha Gul.
Bright students from the country were trained to enhance their oratory, leadership and presentational skills. Student trainees depicted their performance through a stage play. The play showed the importance of channeling our identity towards collective goals and stressed the need for individual change before collective change.
Broadcast journalist Hassan Belal Zaidi, lawyer Zafar Iqbal Kalanori, Professor Basit Afzal and Professor Samia Jamil were among the conductors. They said that they witnessed a huge difference in the personalities of trainee students. The programme arranged at Punjab Law College lasted for four months.
Certificates were awarded to students who took part in the training program, and tokens of appreciation were given to the programme conductors. Students from Government College University, Gulberg College Lahore, Queen Mary College and Lahore Grammar School were among the trainees.
A student, Haider, told Pakistan Today that this training programme had changed his personality by freeing him of stage-fright. Other students also lauded the training programme and termed it helpful. PYLF organisers claimed their programme would promote civic engagement and social vigilance in the young generation that would lead to economic progress and development.
The forum aspired to create a path for innovation and growth in the youth and thrived to bring out true leaders in them. The audience lauded the organisers and conductors’ efforts and said that such programmes could help the youth in various sectors.
PYLF is a project of “Act by 3 Productions”, a devoted theatre group committed to the idea that theatre is the space to project peoples’ aspirations. PYLF organizers promised more events of similar nature.
